Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) is mostly used by organizations using Windows machines and having a partially or fully remote workforce. RDP allows employees to access their office workstations and applications from their homes.
Unfortunately, RDP can mean a significant security risk for organizations. To remediate this, businesses can migrate to the cloud or implement strategies to improve the security of their RDP:
Ensure remote access is encrypted
Enable an authentication method for remote access
Require strong passwords
Employ the principle of least privilege access
Require the use of company hardware. Company-issued hardware is more secure as it will be loaded with anti-virus, password policies, etc.
Utilize VPN services
